But what does Bossa really mean? It’s a signature style, born in Brazil in the 60s, when Bossa Nova emerged, blending jazz with samba and creating an indescribable mix of warm sophistication, poetry and soul.

Since then, we’ve used bossa to describe anything that carries an unpretentious flair — something you don’t explain, you simply notice.

And that’s what inspires my approach: refined, old-money charm, for those drawn to effortless beauty.

I’m Raquel Pires, a storyteller at heart. Born in Brazil, based in Sydney, and always inspired by stories that travel the world. I photograph Weddings and Lifestyle Portraits with a blend of beauty & soul.
