I am Raquel Pires, an International Wedding Photographer, with over 8 years of experience.  Brazilian-born Australian Citizen, I am based in Sydney, and I also hold a European passport, so I am keen to go anywhere you are to create incredible memories for you and your loved ones.

Candid images that tell the story of your day, and also capture the emotions that come along with it. I will create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere making it a pleasant experience for you and your loved ones, with lots of fun. As a result, you can expect more than beautiful natural pictures, but also soulful storytelling.

In my editing, I like to deliver a sophisticated and natural colour tone with a discrete fuji film twist, yet I pride myself on these timeless black-and-white shots. Believe me, I know while photographing, before even editing which shots are meant to be in black and white.

My artistic style was developed just after finishing my degrees in Psychology and Publicity, plus plenty of photography courses and workshops with other super-talented artists.

The flow between these subjects works perfectly, once I can easily connect to people's emotions and also have high standards for the aesthetic details which will make you love your photos!

Having a couple  portrait session before your wedding day is a great o opportunity to get comfortable in front of the cameras, create a strong connection with your photographer, have some great images printed for the wedding signs, and be ready to rock it on your magic day.

Destination wEDDING

I GO ANYWHERE TO CAPTURE YOUR LOVE STORY!

All packages include travel fees, up to 1 hour from Sydney CBD. Depending on the distance and the hours I will be working it would be safer to sleep over. I also travel interstates depending on the package booked and location the costs will be included, for instance, to Melbourne there is no travel fee. In 2024 I’ll be already working in Europe, the reason why there is no cost from Australia to Europe. There are some countries I will be already visiting like Maroco, Spain, Portugal, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece. Send me your date and location to see if it fits in my package or if we need to organize it differently. But don’t worry I intend to make it easy for you. Let’s make it happen!

How to Book ME

Tell me more about your plans!

Please note, that I receive a lot of inquiries and can only take on a limited amount of bookings. I just hold your date with the contract signed and a 30% payment deposit. If you’d like to go ahead the first step is to fill out the form below, letting me know the date, location, number of guests and some other details you have and book a video call then we can chat more about your wedding plans and decide on how many hours and extras you need, and then I can send you a tailored quote. 

It’s a free 45 min consultation call, after the call if you are ready to book I will send you an email with your quote to be accepted, and a contract to be signed, and my system will generate an invoice with all the information for you to make the 30% deposit. 

Done, your date is safe! The other 70% remaining should be paid one week before the day.

This offer is guaranteed for only 2 weeks, If you decide on going in another direction I would kindly ask you to let me know, and then can archive your request in my system, you’ll not receive any follow-up and the date is available for another couple.

Frequently Asked QUESTIONS

  • Romantic, Soulful, Simply Natural!

    I would say a stylish photojournalism.

    My intention is to deliver to you more than photos but memories. While we are together I will choose the best spots and lighting then we will have fun together, with natural directions, and put you and your loved ones very close!

    No awkward poses or crazy angles, just some thing real and bright like you!

  • It is also sophisticated, natural and bright colours with a fuji film discrete twist, respecting the natural skin tones and the palette color of your day. With light green tones, not desaturated.

    You can also expect classic black and white, I hope you love it as much as I do. I do not photoshop them, it would be an extra service that I can quote for you.

  • I am an expert on intimate weddings and natural daylighting.

    Relaxed vibe, yet stylish.

    Up to 150 people, a maximum of 10 hours, and photographing it all by myself.

    Even if I can offer second shooters, I prefer to work on my own, it makes it more intimate and the results are more consistent and natural.

  • Definitely not, I also love maternity , newborn lifestyle, and family sessions, you can find it on the portfolio and blog.

  • I would recommend a second shooter in some specific situations:

    • If it is over 80 guests

    • If you really want different perspectives and angles on the day

    • If you have put a lot of effort into the decoration and want some shots with the room empty

    • If it is happening a cocktail while we are doing the bridal photoshoot and you want it to be covered

    • If the bride and groom are getting ready far from each other

  • For weddings, I don’t have an exact number, it depends on each wedding,

    I would say unlimited, but just to give an idea, a minimum of 300 photos for elopements, and between 600 to 1200 for half and full-day weddings.

    I will select the best shots to tell your story and deliver every single shot I think is part of it. But don’t worry about the number of photos, It’s better you focus on if we have the same style and vibe.

    Believe me, better if you have just a few photos that you love than lots that you don’t really like.

    For the photoshoots, the basic package includes 35 images, but you can always buy extras.

  • I love to travel, that’s one of my passions!

    I am based in Sydney, but I have been shooting in other places in Australia like Victoria, and Queensland, and internationally in Europe (Mallorca, Barcelona, Paris, Italy) South America, and New Zealand.

    In all these places I can work legally once I have an Australian, Brazilian, and Portuguese passport. I also have an international drive's license and can drive both sides of the road.

    I love it when they are international and have different backgrounds, bringing some cultural traditions on their wedding day, for instance, an English man marrying a French girl, and a Brazilian marrying an Ozzie, they are my perfect match!

    I also love when they decide to go for something unconventional, or I get the vibe that they will go wild on the dance floor!

  • I would recommend you at least have a video call with each of your vendors to get their vibe. It’s really important that you choose people that not only have beautiful work but also suit your personality.
