What It’s Like to Get Married at the InterContinental Sorrento in Victoria

Cassia & Michael’s Elegant Coastal Celebration

Some stories begin quietly, almost by chance — and suddenly become part of your life in the most beautiful way. Cassia and I met a few years ago, when she was just stepping into the world of wedding planning. From the very first conversation, I knew she was special. There was a spark… a gentleness combined with such intention. We started working together, creating projects, celebrating other couples, and building this friendship that always felt easy — beautifully easy.

So when she called me and said, “I want you to photograph my wedding,” my heart honestly melted. There’s no bigger compliment for a photographer than being chosen by a colleague — especially one you adore and admire. I didn’t need a second to think. I said yes with my whole soul. We were always the perfect match.

The Setting — A luxurious Jewel on the Coast

Their wedding unfolded at the newly reopened InterContinental Sorrento in Victoria, a true masterpiece of coastal luxury. Four months since its grand reopening, the hotel feels like a Mediterranean escape — warm textures, Spanish-inspired architecture, golden light touching every corner.

The ceremony took place on the grand balcony overlooking the sea, framed by an elegant, organic floral design created by Hello Blossoms. The atmosphere felt effortless and refined — a celebration embraced by nature, sunlight, and the quiet hum of excitement.

The ceremony itself was led by the ever-lovely Jessica Edwards, whose presence and words brought even more warmth to the moment.

The Personal Touches — The Heart of the Day

One thing about Cassia is that she loves deeply and intentionally, and her wedding reflected that beautifully.

Her glam was crafted by the incredible Marcia Valeria, who brought out Cassia’s natural radiance with that touch of diva elegance only Marcia knows how to deliver.
Her dress — a stunning creation by Cassia Fuji, her dear friend — felt like poetry in flower applications: refined, feminine, timeless.

And then there were the moments I treasure most as a photographer: her mum is helping with the bridesmaids’ bouquets, her little girl running around the room during the getting ready, friends laughing, touching up lipstick, adjusting veils, vendors who were actually friends, celebrating not as suppliers, but as part of the family.

It was intimate. It was warm. It was real.

Why This Wedding Felt So Special

For me, weddings like this are a reminder of why I do what I do — to capture the soul of a story, beyond the beauty of it.

When love, family, and friendship blend so naturally, everything becomes art: gestures, glances, hands brushing against each other, the quiet in-between moments that carry emotion long after the day is gone.

Cassia and Michael’s wedding wasn’t just visually stunning. It was heartfelt, personal, and filled with this serene joy that only happens when two people are surrounded by those who truly love them.

And being the one to document all of this? An honour I will carry with me forever.
